The “JLIJ” CD

Let's talk about that Jagged Little Infatuation Junkie CD*.  Yes, OK, it's true....I admit it.  I am a diehard Alanis Morissette fan.

From the unique vocal strains on her earliest album, with that end-of-line vocal curly crack, to every single mesmerizing beat and hook of Hand In My Pocket.  I've watched and thoroughly enjoyed how she has evolved as a musician and lyricist over the years.  One of my favorite songs of hers is now Empathy. This song is priceless, and I can listen to it on a loop without tiring.

Jagged Little Infatuation Junkie, like Luminous before it, is one of my "karaoke albums", where I was privileged to obtain some versions of some of my favorite Alanis songs in order to make my own tribute to her creativity.

Songs like, of course, Hand in my Pocket, but also So Unsexy, Precious Illusions, 21 Things I Want In A Lover, Hands Clean, Not All Me, Offer, Simple Together, Uninvited, Head Over Feet, and That Particular Time: they were all so wonderful to be able to sing and record.

I even mimicked the cover of her album Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie for this one, and combined the titles of that album with Jagged Little Pill to come up with my own album's name.

Alanis Morissette has been part of my creative journey since 1995, and I'm very grateful to have been able to put this one together.  And yes, that's a cavity.

Sincerely,

Ryan Graves | Seattle Christian Rock Singer
