We’re finished recording – phew! 15 songs in the can. I was very surprised and relieved to see how well (and quickly) “Whisper” got taken care of. I had a scary feeling that that particular song would take nearly all day in the studio. But after (3) emotional takes, I redid it with the lights out and it turned out very moving. We opened the vocal recording with “Embrace”, and closed it with “Bound”, and now all is in the hands of producer Paul Racey for mixdown. Then we go to mastering. What an exciting thrill ride of hopes and expectations, dreads and worries, fears and dreaming: the volatile mix of it all. Lump in my throat as I write this, bidding farewell to the recording process…every time I’ve been blessed to be able to engage in studio recording, it’s been such an exquisite privilege…I love it. Now I just hope and pray that what I attempted to communicate behind the mic, along with all the talent that came alongside me in guitars, drums, bass, keys, flutes, udus, etc., makes it to that little silver shiny disc and rings pleasantly in the ears of all recipients. What an awesome journey this has been!
